Last January 23, 2015, the annual Boss Ironman Motorcycle Challenge was held with the flag-off at Hotel Stotsenberg in Clark, Pampanga. The country’s toughest riders gathered to test their strength in this widely known 24 hours endurance ride with 1,200 kilometers to complete. No doubt, it is definitely a challenge to all riders, physically and mentally!

Of course, that does not stop them. Who would back down from a challenge? Not our Ducati riders, that’s for sure. And this was greatly shown when one of our Ducati riders was even the first one to complete the challenge. Yes, OVERALL first to finish.

AMARJIT SANGHERA ON BOARD A DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1200

1,200 KM IN 12 HOURS & 3 MINUTES

Forza Ducati! Amar really made the Ducatisti proud. With the time of 12 hours and 3 minutes, he already travelled the 1,200km Northern loop. He even shared that his GPS had turned off and at one point, got lost in the city of Tuguegarao. Despite that, he still managed to be the first Ducati finisher and first overall finisher! Even with lack of sleep, Amar had the energy to accommodate everyone who would want to take a picture of him and with him. When asked where he gets his remaining strength after conquering 1,200 kilometer of road, he simply replied: “I was really exhausted when I arrived at the finish line but when people started taking pictures of me and with me and that overwhelmed me”. All throughout the day, Amar was rounding the area as if he was not tired at all.

The bike deserves some credit too, don’t you think? Good job, Ducati Multistrada 1200!

Aside from Amar’s notable finish, the Ducati Multistrada 1200 is another one to take pride of. Amar and the Multistrada is one perfect combination in which resulted to something that made the entire Ducati community proud. The Ducati Multistrada is indeed one of the most recommended bikes in these kinds of challenges. It is the most suitable touring bike that will keep you comfortable all throughout the long and bumpy ride, evidently shown by Amar.

This year, watch out for the 2015 Multistrada 1200 and 1200 S that features the latest Ducati Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine. The 2015 Multistrada 1200 is the only motorcycle in the world with variable timing on all cylinder valves. Aside from that, it is considered to be Ducati’s first connected motorcycle because of the Ducati Mutimedia System that it has. Through Bluetooth, it connects the motorcycle to the rider’s smartphone and headset. Calls and media can be controlled through the bike’s handlebar buttons. It is now also hands free. As soon as the bike detects the electronic key, it automatically turns itself on. Another useful feature for endurance rides would be the backlit handlebar controls. This makes night riding as enjoyable and safe as riding during day time. Other features of the bike also include Ducati Shyhook Suspension (DSS) Evo, Cruise Control and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). The 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200 is a bike that will definitely conquer more than 1,200 kilometers the Multistrada 1200 had already completed.

The 2015 10th Boss Ironman Motorcycle Challenge is just one of the endurance rides here in the Philippines. There was the Cannonball 1000, in which Amar also participated in held last January 9-10, and the Motorally which is by far the toughest endurance challenge with 1,600KM road to be travelled. According to Amar, he is in fact trying to prepare this early on for the Motorally. One thing is for sure, the Ducati community will definitely have your back on your next challenge, Amar!
